A bus stop might seem like an ordinary part of the day, but it is where many journeys begin and end. We believe that better awareness, education and community involvement can help make these everyday journeys safer.
We called on the Queensland Government to introduce mandatory seatbelts on rural school buses. The campaign received 797 signatures from people who wanted to see safer travel for students.
The petition has now been tabled in Queensland Parliament. This is an important step for the campaign, and we thank everyone who took the time to show their support.
We will continue following the parliamentary process and keep our community informed about any developments.

"Students rushing onto buses without letting others off first is unsafe and disrespectful."
— Mrs. B, Local School Teacher
Safe transport isn't just about the vehicles themselves. It is also about the people who use them every day. Feedback from students, parents, drivers, schools and the wider community helps bring attention to the situations that passengers experience.
